With apologies to Harry Nilsson, one is NOT the loneliest number that you’ll ever do. Thanks to the “Solo and Small Firm Conference 2017” put on by the Law Society of Upper Canada this past Thursday, being a sole practitioner doesn’t seem quite so lonely anymore. I was privileged to hear some dynamic and knowledgeable speakers, but even more so, I was privileged to meet some fellow lawyers who inspired me through their commitment and positive approach to their practices. I walked out of that conference with some new ideas, some new contacts, and even some new friends. One is not a bad number at all – especially when a lot of “ones” get together and bring their individual talents and strengths together to support one another.
